5 Seconds Of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford faced a horrifying injury on Saturday after some pyro at the band’s show at the Wembley Arena went off and burned him in the face. Those in attendance caught video at the event and The Hollywood Reporter states that the band was forced to cut their show short:

The band was performing at London’s Wembley Arena on Saturday when guitarist Michael Clifford made contact with an on-stage pyrotechnics display, suffering burns to the head.

The concert was cut short as a result of the incident, with bandmate Ashton Irwin telling the crowd, “Michael has hurt himself, so we will not be continuing the show right now. Just want to say thank you so much for coming. He is OK. You guys have been the best crowd we could ever ask for tonight.”

You can see video of the announcement here. The vine below has a closer look at the incident, clearly showing the pyro blast up into the side of Clifford’s face and forcing him to run off the stage in pain.

Things seem alright for the young musician and he posted an updated photo for fans on social media, noting that he looks like Batman villain Two-Face now. The incident is a reminder of a similar incident for Metallica’s James Hetfield back in 1992, but luckily this resulted in less severe injuries.
