Hunger. It’s strong enough to turn the most devout vegetarian into a flesh-chewing meat-asaurus. Last month in Ibiza, Spain, Kenny McSween suffered at the hands of an extreme hunger pang. But, it wasn’t his own. It was some other guy’s.
British DJ, McSween, has been living in Ibiza for the last two years as a fairly recognizable figure in the music community. On Sept. 20, he was on his way into his apartment complex when a man claiming he was a police officer approached him. That man began questioning him on his motives for being at the complex, and the confrontation got physical: The supposed police officer pushed McSween against a wall. The DJ scrambled away, but when he returned 10 minutes later to ask the stranger why he was getting physical with him, the man attacked McSween, throwing him to the ground while punching him. Then, he began chewing on his face and neck. Ten minutes of the horrifying 20-minute attack were caught on CCTV footage.
“I honestly thought he was going to kill me,” he told The Mirror. “I feel like I’ve gone 12 rounds with Mike Tyson. My face swelled up like a balloon and I was dripping with blood from where he bit me. The sound of him biting me still haunts me — he was growling like a wild animal.”
One of the bites on McSween’s forehead required seven stitches. In the video, you can see a woman — apparently the attacker’s accomplice — walk over and steal some items that fell from McSween’s pockets. To make matters worse, when police arrived, they handcuffed McSween and let his alleged attacker go free, claiming it was merely a misunderstanding.
“The police told me later he suspected I didn’t live there,” he said. “But he went well beyond any reasonable use of force to detain me. Once he started punching me he didn’t stop until the police arrived.”
According to McSween, his attacker has yet to be arrested. Fearing for his life, McSween packed up and moved back to his native London following the bizarre attack and the police’s handling of the situation.
