Steven Avery’s New Lawyer Is Already Dismantling The Case Against Him On Twitter

So far, all the exposure in the world hasn’t helped Making A Murderer‘s Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey get appeals for their convictions. But last week there was some good news for those that continue to proclaim Avery innocent of the murder of Teresa Halbach: Chicago lawyer Kathleen Zellner, who specializes in overturning wrongful convictions, took up his case. She’ll be joined by Tricia Bushnell, legal director of the Midwest Innocence Project.

That’s one hell of a legal team – Zellner is the Godzilla of getting murder convictions thrown out and millions of dollars for her clients who have been wrongfully imprisoned. Since she picked up the case, people have been wondering how she’d attack the many irregularities we saw, and it looks like she’s not shy about sharing her thoughts on social media. Here’s what she’s tweeted since picking up the case:

Who knows how long Zellner and Bushnell will take to put a request for an appeal together – I’m sure it’ll be a whopper when it’s ready to be filed. Until then we’ll have to keep checking Zellner’s Twitter account for more rebuttals and arguments. Or if you’re craving more true crime documentary goodness but with a happier ending, there’s a new doc up on iTunes called Dream Killer that shows Zellner at work overturning the conviction of Ryan Ferguson, who spent seven years in jail for a murder he didn’t commit.
