Golden State fans paid an insane amount of money to attend Game 7 of the NBA Finals Sunday night, only to see the 73-win Warriors go ice cold in the game’s final minutes and LeBron James and Kyrie Irving make big plays to carry the Cavaliers to a championship.
Given their disappointment (and the fact that there was likely some alcohol consumed), it’s perhaps not all that surprising that tempers flared in Oracle Arena after the final buzzer and there were some disagreements in the stands.
However, for one fan, an altercation after Game 7 had serious consequences. According to The Associated Press, a fan fell from the second deck of Oracle Arena after the game.
While details are scarce at the moment, an Oakland police spokeswoman did confirm the man fell as a result of a fight with another fan.
Oakland police spokeswoman Johnna Watson says the man in his early 20s fell over a railing because of a fight with another fan just after the game ended on Sunday night.
Oakland police said the fan was taken the hospital following the fall and is in critical-but-stable condition. No other details are available at this time.
