The above video arrives with a language warning, of course.
Republican strategist Ana Navarro has opposed Donald Trump since the day he announced his candidacy. When she joins a CNN panel, things can get a little loose, but she raised her own bar on Friday night. Trump had apologized after the Washington Post released footage, in which he made lewd remarks about women and how he can “grab them by the p*ssy.” Tensions were high after Trump kept everyone waiting on his statement, and poor Don Lemon grew antsy, after which he dealt with an explosive panel.
In this above short clip (and there’s more below), Navarro got into it with commentator and Trump surrogate Scottie Nell Hughes. Navarro hurled out her disgust for Trump’s words, and she believes all Republicans will one day have to reexamine their response to this footage. Then Navarro dropped the P-word, at which point, Hughes recoiled and demanded, “Could you please stop saying that word? My daughter is listening.” Navarro wouldn’t be silenced. She began shouting the P-word and asked why Hughes was so upset by her usage, but it’s cool for Trump to use it in a degrading way: “Don’t act outraged and offended when I say the word when you’re not offended by the man you’re supporting.” Damn.
The evening was a fruitful one for Navarro and Hughes, who also joined a different, all-female CNN panel. Hughes attempted to justify Trump’s statements by pointing out that he wasn’t running for office when he made them. She thinks that if people want to call out Trump’s “deplorable” comments, then all rap stars and celebrities should be held accountable too.
