Brett Ratner, already filing the serial numbers off Quantum Leap, has apparently decided that TV is where it’s at, which isn’t surprising considering the performance of Tower Heist.
So he’s turning Farmville into a cartoon.
And he’s really excited about it:
“FarmVille is one of the most exciting brands out there today and its cross-platform opportunities are endless. I am thrilled to be expanding the brand with existing fans and also engaging a whole new audience,” said Ratner in a statement Thursday. No network is attached currently to the proposed FarmVille series.
Apparently farm cultivation is going to make for a dynamic cartoon experience. As noted, a network isn’t yet connected to this series.
We’re sure Zynga is excited, considering the company’s extended financial trouble. On the other hand, we’ve got to ask how, exactly, this show’s going to take off. Franchises have been built around weirder subject matter, we suppose, but FarmVille isn’t exactly hugely popular among the children, especially considering the kids aren’t allowed on Facebook in the first place.
On the other hand, hey, it’s not like Brett Ratner is doing anything.
