Call of Juarez is going back to its Western roots with the digital release of Gunslinger, and essentially it looks like what would happen if Gearbox made Red Dead Revolver.
Note that this is not a complaint.
Here’s the trailer in all its gory, er, glory:
It’s pretty violent, and it takes more than a few cues from spaghetti Westerns, including what appears to be the obligatory Ku Klux Klan hunt (those would be the guys in the red masks). Interestingly, the trailer doesn’t offer much in the way of gameplay info, but there’s plenty of that to be found on the game’s website.
Apparently you’ll be able to level up in different firearms disciplines, unleash combos, and be able to dodge bullets. Also, you’ll kill real outlaws of the Old West, which raises a question of why nobody’s ever heard of this guy, but anyway.
This is arriving on 360, PS3, and PC at the end of the month. We’ll be curious to see at what price point and just how long the game itself is. Although we’ve got to admit, twenty bucks to kill racist d-bags is kind of a no-brainer.
