A couple of years ago SNL alum Victoria Jackson emerged from wherever she’s been hiding since leaving the show to become sort of a right wing darling — the rare someone from “liberal Hollywood” who was one of them. Since then she’s been going around saying all sorts of impossibly crazy things during her frequent stints as a guest on various Fox News programs, and there’s a small part of me that has believed that it’s all an act, that she can’t possibly be so crazy, and that she’s performing a role of sorts in her own genius little piece of performance art — a Stephen Colbert-esque character fully inhabiting the world she mocks. Then last night I watched her new web talk show, “Politichicks” — yes, that’s actually the name of the show — and am now convinced more than ever that it’s all a huge con.
The setup is simple — four “chicks” sitting around chatting like the ladies on The View, except that the cast of “Politichicks” consists entirely of horrible, moronic people.
The PolitiChicks are here! Finally, Conservative Americans will have an alternative to those other liberal-based talk shows in which women scream over each other and call Conservatives vile names.
The PolitiChicks are former Saturday Night Live alumni and Tea Party favorite Victoria Jackson, pro-life speaker and activist Jennique Stewart, editor and activist Jennie Jones and Ann-Marie Murrell, columnist and host of The Patriot Update video show.
The first episode consisted entirely of Muslim and gay bashing, a “discussion” so incredibly ignorant and intolerant that it really seems like an SNL parody or something. But it’s not, as the three women on screen with Jackson are actual living, breathing conservative activists. Aspiring Ann Coulter wannabes, if you will. Like, they really believe the horsesh*t coming out of their mouths. Here’s a sampling…
“A Muslim man was beating his wife and the judge let him off because he was allowed to do it under his religion.”
“Of course it’s so hypocritical, because we’re not allowed to say “In Jesus name Amen” because of separation of church and state, but in their religion they’re allowed to beat up or behead their wife legally in America because we’re open to all religions.”
“If you look at other countries…Christians are being tortured, crucified and murdered.”
“My dad said we’re lucky that most Muslims are lukewarm because otherwise we’d all be dead.”
“Islam says kill gay people that’s why I don’t get why liberals are pro-Muslim and pro-gay because Muslims kill gays.”
“Getting back to gay marriage, we’re not allowed to say anything, because we’re labeled intolerant, we’re labeled racist, we’re labeled prejudiced — it’s pretty much whatever we believe they’ve got a big giant label for us…they’re intolerant.”
I watched this very intently and just believe Victoria Jackson is putting on an act. It’s not what she says — the things she says are not really all that much more crazy and batsh*t than the things her cohorts say — it’s the way she says them. It’s just all way too over the top. I just don’t think a human being can be this f*cking stupid, is essentially what I’m trying to say.
Then again, perhaps my sliver of faith in humanity is misplaced. It wouldn’t be the first time.
