Wolfenstein: The New Order was one of the most pleasant gaming surprises of 2014, and the surprises keep on coming, as fans can now look forward to a new DLC prequel.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood takes place in 1946 and is inspired by classic World War II adventure movies like The Dirty Dozen and, of course, Indiana Jones. In the game B.J. Blazkowicz has to break into Castle Wolfenstein in order to unearth information that will help him stop Nazi archaeologists from unearthing an ancient, evil power source.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood will be standalone DLC so you don’t have to own The New Order to play it. This is the kind of approach to DLC I wish we saw more of. Developers coming back to a game well after it’s release and delivering significant new content. It’s what we were always promised DLC would be, so it’s nice to see somebody actually delivering on that promise for once.
