Chris Lee built his own remote-controlled R2-D2 and brought it to Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim last week. While there, R2-D2 met a young boy in a wheelchair and greeted his fellow rolling Disney guest like a new best friend. This kid’s boisterous laugh is totally infectious.
He was having so much fun and laughing continuously. Even his parents and some people in the crowd (me included) started giggling uncontrollably. Definitely one of the highlights of this convention for me.
We’re going to go ahead and pretend this was the real Artoo and he loves hanging out with people who are also on wheels, and we look forward to the spin-off TV series where Artoo and Stephen Hawking solve mysteries together. Artoo And The Hawk, on USA this Fall.
