Donald Trump seems to be inspiring part of the younger generation, and these newfound Trump enthusiasts want to help out. One of his young supporters is 12-year-old Weston Imer, who is running one of Trump’s campaign offices in Colorado.
Trump is behind in some prominent polls, and he is looking to invest heavily in swing states, Colorado being one of them. Imer is running the Jefferson County campaign office, which is one of the most populous in Colorado and could help him tremendously in the general election. Imer wants to play his role, and he’s not just kicking back and letting his parents do all the work. Nope, the 12-year-old go-getter is making phone calls to supporters, instructing volunteers on their daily tasks, and helping with the final preparations of the office’s grand opening.
It should be noted that Imer’s mother, Laurel, holds the official title of field coordinator of the office, but she said she is more than happy to let her son take the lead. She feels this is an educational moment and says, “parents have the responsibility to educate their kids.” And young Weston seems pretty gung ho about throwing his support behind Trump.
When talking to KDVR-Denver, Imer was vocal on the fact that kids need to get educated. He seems to be backing up that claim by putting some of his fellow peers to work at the office. Although he is not even of legal voting age, he sees himself as a future presidential candidate. He says Trump’s youngest son Baron could be a great running mate.
