Donald Trump Obliterated Ted Cruz Over His ‘New York Values’ Criticism At The Fox Business Debate

At the Fox Business GOP Debate, Ted Cruz continued his scrappy fight against Donald Trump by taking on the matter of “New York values.” This discussion has been ongoing all week with Cruz already taking aim on the Howie Carr show. Cruz said this about Trump: “Look, I think he may shift in his new rallies to playing ‘New York, New York’ because, you know, Donald comes from New York and he embodies New York values. And listen, the Donald seems to be a little bit rattled.”

The media enjoyed pointing out how Cruz loves New York money, especially when it comes from Goldman Sachs. As such, Neil Cavuto (who has zeroed in on Cruz all night) posed the followup question, to which Cruz discussed how New York is too “socially liberal” and believes in things like abortion. Also, “not a lot of conservative come out of Manhattan, I’m just saying.” Trump is nothing if not a New Yorker, though (to be fair) there are all kinds of New Yorkers in the world. Still, Trump managed to articulate something warm and honest about the spirit of New York.

Advantage: Trump. Twitter mostly agrees.
