Tyrion Lannister Is Second To Bernie Sanders As ‘Game Of Thrones’ Fans’ Choice For President

As South Park once put it in their typically eloquent way, we’re often forced to choose between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich when voting. Given the opportunity to vote for someone else, we often would. And that’s how it turned out when online pollsters SurveyMonkey put up a poll including various Game of Thrones characters into the 2016 US presidential race.

Bernie Sanders still managed to come out on top of the online pile, not very surprising when you consider the immense support he has from fans of fantasy. But coming right under him in a virtual tie is Tyrion Lannister. Both took 24% of the total voting pool, with Bernie taking a few extra individual votes.

This is somewhat surprising in today’s climate considering he recently murdered his mistress by strangling her to death in his father’s bed. But just like with other political figures, the things certain people do and say don’t seem to affect their favorability ratings like they do others.

Below Bernie and Tyrion sits Hillary Clinton in third, but she shouldn’t feel too bad since she still beat out Daenerys Targaryen by six percentage points. It seems like even three dragons aren’t enough to make voters forget about the mess she’s made of Slaver’s Bay during her reign. Down at the bottom of the pile sit Republican nominees Donald Trump (7%), Ted Cruz (5%), John Kasich (5%), and Cersei Lannister (1%).
