A rally near the Sacramento Capitol building turned bloody on Sunday when protesters and counter-protesters clashed. The event was described by attendees as “Nationalists in Sacramento Protest Internationalism.” After obtaining a permit, the Traditionalist Worker Party advertised the rally on their Facebook page to protest non-white immigration and globalism. The party shared the above posting from the 14 Sacred Words band.
14 Sacred Words is a reference to the infamous white supremacist mantra, “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.” Likewise, the Traditionalist Worker Party website argues how “a bright white line must be drawn around the sanctity of innocent human life.” Well, the Sacramento rally grew violent when counter-protesters showed up. Before anyone knew what was happening, people were attacking and stabbing each other, according to Francis Wang of ABC 10 in Sacramento. She shared a series of photos and videos.

The Sacramento Fire department confirmed that five people were stabbed at this protest. This video shows a crowd attacking “Nazis,” and Wang mentions that people were injured and getting maced.

No one’s quite sure whether rally attendees or counter-protesters broke out the knives, but one photo shows a counter-protester receiving medical aid.

Adding to the general confusion of who did what, both counter-protesters and many party members covered their faces during the event. Here’s a photo of the 14 Sacred Words band preparing for “game time.”

At this time, no one has been arrested, and CBS confirms that no fatalities occurred. The full event has been cancelled in the wake of these stabbings, but some protesters remain on the scene and will be permitted to exercise free speech. This news clip reveals how officers will continue to monitor the situation.
