Chris Paul Heads To Locker Room Following Potential Hamstring Injury (UPDATE)

UPDATE: Remember Willis Reed? Paul came back to the Clippers bench midway through the second quarter and was just inserted into the game. Los Angeles initially deemed him questionable to return with a left hamstring injury.

Obviously, keep an eye on Paul’s effectiveness as this game continues. The Spurs lead the Clippers 39-38 with 6:31 left before halftime.

PREVIOUSLY:

Regardless of where your legions lie, it’s safe to say all basketball fans winced as Chris Paul walked to the locker room.

After grabbing a steal and drilling a three-pointer to put his team up 23-22 on the San Antonio Spurs with 2:11 left in the first quarter of Saturday’s Game 7, the Los Angeles Clippers superstar headed to the bench. What seemed like a normal substitution, though, was actually anything but – replays showed Paul grabbing his hamstring immediately following the steal.

Paul had his head in his hands while being tended to by medical personnel before gingerly walking to the locker room.

We’ll keep you updated on his status as information becomes available. The Spurs led the Clippers 30-28 at the conclusion of the first quarter.
