LeBron James played the latter stages of his team’s win over the Phoenix Suns last weekend without his trademark headband. Like everyone else, though, we just assumed The King made a temporary decision to ditch his thick sweatband and would come out for Tuesday’s marquee matchup with the Dallas Mavericks donning his usual accessory.
We were wrong.
Remember Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals? James losing his headband began the Miami Heat’s furious late-game run that allowed Ray Allen to play hero at the end of regulation. Might the viewing audience be in store for similar theatrics from LeBron tonight? Let’s hope so.
