Tim Burton Says ‘Beetlejuice 2’ Is Definitely A Go, With Winona Ryder Returning

If you ask me, this drunk guy waking up in the wrong house dressed as Beetlejuice is the best Beetlejuice sequel we could ever ask for, but a Tim Burton version has been in talks since at least 2012. Michael Keaton said he was in if Burton was during his Birdman tour in February, and now Tim Burton has reiterated, once again, that yes, doing Beetlejuice sequel is indeed something he would indeed be interested in.

Keaton told us on February 13 that he was in if Burton was, and on October 17 he mentioned that they were waiting for a script; but now Burton is here to set the record straight — “Beetlejuice 2″ is happening, and some very familiar faces will return.

BEETLEJUICE! BEETLEJUICE! BEETLEJUICE! (*paycheck magically appears*)

“Oh yeah,” Burton said, when MTV News asked if he’d be directing the sequel. And his response to the question of whether or not Winona Ryder would be returning?

“Oh yeah, yeah yeah yeah,” he said. “Oh yeah, oh yeah. Yeah yeah, oh yeah.” [MTVNews]

At this point I think I’m going to have to hear a transcript of this interview so I can confirm that Tim Burton was answering the question and not just singing along to a song that was on the radio.

Anyway, last we heard, Seth Grahame-Smith would be writing the script, even though he and Burton should’ve been forcibly barred from collaborating after their Dark Shadows movie. What’s it going to take, a constitutional amendment? Let’s make this happen, people.
