Transformers 4 has a title, possibly teases dinobots!!11!!1ONE1!

Paramount blasted out the teaser poster for Transformers 4 last night, and it contained one big reveal: the title. Turns out the fourth Transformers film, the Wahlbergiest of the series, set for June 27th, 2014, will be called Transformers: Age of Extinction. The title has led to much speculation that the film will include an appearance from the dinobots, those robots who transformed not into cars or planes or boomboxes or guns, but ancient lizards. I know I sure would be excited to speculate about it if I was a huge dork with terrible taste.

There’s no official synopsis as of yet, but an unofficial one that leaked online a while back goes a little something like this:

As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.

Wow, that does sound epic. Lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-yous. But no matter what happens, one thing is for certain: it will all be resolved by robots punching each other.

I can’t believe they didn’t go with Transformers: 4 Than Meets The Eye. Or maybe Transformers: (*explosion sound*).
