‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops III’ Doubles Down On The Noir In The Latest Zombie Mode Trailer

Call of Duty‘s various co-op focused side modes have been steadily growing in size and ambition, and this year’s zombie mode looks to be even bigger and better than the game’s main single-player campaign. Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Shadows of Evil has all the stars (Jeff Goldblum, Heather Graham, Ron Perlman, and more) and a fun 1940s noir setting. I’ve seen zombies mixed up with a lot of things, but film noir is actually a new one.

The latest Shadows of Evil trailer gives us a taste of the mode’s storyline, and all the archetypes are represented. We have a femme fatale taking revenge against a blackmailer, a dirty cop on the take, a down-on-his-luck boxer, and a murderous magician who sounds a lot like Jeff Goldblum. Also, zombies. Swingin’, fedora-wearing zombies! Honestly, this world looks like a lot of fun. I didn’t know the Call of Duty folks had it in ’em. Thankfully the main campaign still has lots of beard-stubbly guys gritting their jaws, if Shadows of Evil doesn’t feel “classic CoD” enough for you.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III and the first chapter of Shadows of Evil will be released November 6.
