‘Overwatch’ Characters Modded Into ‘Street Fighter V’ Look Better Than The Game’s Actual Fighters

There have been a lot of words written about the popularity of Overwatch, but ultimately, I think the secret to its success is pretty simple – the game combines the distinct, memorable character designs of a fighting game, with the accessible gameplay of an old-school shooter. What’s not to like about that combination?

Considering Overwatch‘s strong fighting game vibe, some gamers have wondered what the shooter’s characters might look like in a fighter like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. Well, modder TheJamk has provided the answer, adding Tracer, Reinhardt, Mei and Roadhog to Street Fighter V. It works even better than you might imagine, with the Overwatch characters actually looking better than a lot of Street Fighter V‘s official fighters. Perhaps that’s not that surprising, as Overwatch‘s character design is a notch above Street Fighter‘s in general. You can check out Tracer above, and Reinhardt, Mei and Roadhog, below.

Of course, these are just skins for existing Street Fighter V characters, so they don’t have their own moves or animations. If Capcom was smart, they’d do whatever it takes to get Blizzard to agree to an actual Street Fighter/Overwatch crossover. If anything can revive Street Fighter V‘s lagging sales, that would be it.
