Capcom has kept us waiting a while for news on who the final returning Street Fighter V character could be, but now we know it’s everybody’s favorite rubbery yoga master, Dhalsim. This time around Dhalsim has revamped his look, adding a turban and snowy white beard to his ensemble, but don’t worry, his arms and legs are still made out of Silly Putty.
Capcom has also announced general plans for post-launch content. As we reported earlier, there won’t be any Super Ultra Street Fighter V Turbo EX this time around. Instead Capcom is going to release new characters individually on a regular basis, hopefully over the span of years. According to Capcom they will be releasing six additional characters in 2016, bringing the total number of Street Fighter V characters to 22 by 2017. Oh, and you’ll be able to earn all new characters for free if you complete daily challenges and level up your fighters (of course, new characters can be bought if you’re not the patient type).
What do you think of ol’ Dhalsim taking one of the last launch roster spots? Personally I would have preferred Blanka, but I guess the game already has an electrified Brazilian fighter. Street Fighter V arrives February 16, 2016.
