The Latest ‘Battlefield 1’ Trailer And Footage Delivers Scorching Desert Warfare

When World War I is mentioned, most people think about grinding trench warfare, but WWI was a varied conflict that raged across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. The latest Battlefield 1 trailer gives us a taste of that variety, showcasing some fast-paced desert-based gameplay.

The trailer shows off a map set amongst the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula, and there’s definitely no mud or trenches in sight. The terrain is a dusty, scorched deathscape, and we’re treated to shots of men battling on horseback with sabers, engaging in gripping aerial dogfighting, a huge, armored train and, yes, a guy in a suit of armor blasting away with a Gatling gun. It’s intense stuff, and the graphics are absolutely astounding, so you’re definitely going to want to check this trailer out.

EA also streamed a nice chunk of Battlefield 1 gameplay from Gamescom, the European version of E3 that’s happening right now. This really shows you what Battlefield 1 mutliplayer is all about…
