PCs, handhelds, mobile, console, indies, triple A, free-to-play — the gaming scene gets more diverse and difficult to follow by the day, but, thankfully, I’m here ever week to guide you through what’s happening with games.
As always, I’ll rattle off five games I think you might want to check out this week. Keep in mind, these articles aren’t meant to be comprehensive lists of everything coming out that week so much as a nice rounded tasting menu. So, let’s get to it…
This Week’s Expansion Pack
Destiny: The Taken King (Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 & PS4, Sept. 15)
I generally try to stay away from DLC in Five Games, but the Destiny’s latest expansion is so big, it’s practically a new game. A major expansion to the story, a whole new breed of enemies, an all-new, massive destination in The Dreadnought and, of course, all the new weapons, armor and other goodies you expect is all coming in Destiny: The Taken King. Activision is even releasing The Taken King as a boxed, retail product. So yeah, as far as expansions go, this is a big one.
This Week’s Sports Game
NHL 16 (Xbox One & PS4, Sept. 15)
Hey, Canadians. Our version of Madden arrives this week! NHL 16 restores some features dropped from last year’s game, including the ability to play online with a team made up entirely of real players.
This Week’s Other Sports Game
Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 (PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 & PS4, Sept. 15)
More sports! Soooo many sports this week! This year’s Pro Evolution Soccer gets dynamic weather, the ability to control your goal celebrations and all sorts of other features I don’t particularly understand because I live in the one part of the world that doesn’t love soccer.
This Week’s Horror Game
Albino Lullaby (PC, Sept. 15)
Albino Lullaby is a horror game that tries to avoid horror game cliches. No blood, no gore, no jump scares. Will the game be successful without these crutches? It’s impossible to say for sure, but it certainly looks unsettling. Here’s the game’s Steam page.

Forza Motorsport 6 (Xbox One, Sept. 15)
Wanna drive some pretty cars, real fast? Well, Forza Motorsport 6 is here to deliver just that. This time around, the cars are prettier and faster than ever, there’s more varied weather conditions, particularly wet-weather, which has been realistically simulated.
Sports and cars! Rargh! [Crushes beer can on my forehead.] Any games you’re itching to get your hands on that I failed to mention? Hit the comments and let the world know.
