Joseph Gordon-Levitt And Michael Rosenbaum Are The Newest Contenders For ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’

Last time we checked in on James Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, several actors were in the running to play the half-human, half-alien Peter Quill (Star Lord). Those actors were Lee Pace (AKA Thranduil), Joel Edgerton (Zero Dark Thirty), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire), Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas), Zachary Levi (Chuck), and Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables). We threw our support to Lee Pace because he’d be an awesome Peter Quill, but now we’re hearing of two more actors to consider: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Lex Luthor Michael Rosenbaum.

The Joseph Gordon-Levitt possibility was reported by Deadline, and the Michael Rosenbaum news comes from Rosenbaum himself, who tweeted about reading for the role. Whoever Marvel casts, they’ll have to get on with it. The release date for Guardians Of The Galaxy is set for August 1st, 2014 to follow after Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier and to precede the sequel to The Avengers in 2015.

Perhaps we could speed up the casting process if Lee Pace, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Michael Rosenbaum settled this with a cross-dressing contest…

What’s going on is that y’all just got schooled by Lee Pace.
