It seems as though we can’t even make it through a full day without a new breaking bulletin on the latest casting news regarding Spider-Man: Homecoming. So with that in mind, let’s take a deep breath, step back and make sure we’re all on the same page with a recap of what we know so far.
The most recent news to drop concerned the casting of Logan Marshall-Green and Martin Starr. Marshall-Green, of Prometheus and The O.C. fame will be some sort of villain, per EW, while Silicon Valley mainstay Starr’s role has yet to be defined. Next up, there’s word that Donald Glover, who has some blockbuster chops after a small but important role in The Martian, has joined the fray. And we also heard last month that after some stops and starts, Michael Keaton will indeed return to the comic/superhero genre as the main villain in the movie, The Vulture.
Oh yeah, almost forgot — there’s also that Downey Jr. guy, too. Yep, in case it slipped your mind as well, just a reminder here that Iron Man will be in the movie.
Man that’s a lot. And we’ve not even gotten to the fact that star Tom Holland wants Captain America to make an appearance. And that Chris Evans is totally down with that idea. And don’t forget that the makers of another Marvel smash property, Deadpool, want in on the action.
Needless to say, there’s been no shortage of information on the next reboot of the adventures of Peter Parker. And with the movie not set to arrive in theaters until July 7, 2017, there’s bound to be plenty more.
