‘Hyrule Warriors’ Is Coming To The 3DS, And May Feature A Playable Female Link

As revealed in a leaked Japanese trailer, the surprisingly entertaining Dynasty Warriors/Zelda mashup Hyrule Warriors is going to be jumping to the 3DS as Hyrule Warriors: All-Stars. You can check the trailer out above.

The trailer contains new characters Tetra and the King of Red Lions from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, but eagle-eyed fans think they may have found evidence of another new character. Last year, a Hyrule Warriors art book was released in Japan which contained a design for an unused female version of Link named “Linkle.”

She wielded a crossbow, something no other character in the game uses. Okay, now, let’s check out this screen from the trailer – is that not a crossbow being held by some mysterious figure behind Tetra? Could Linkle actually be making her debut in this version of the game?

It’s somewhat scant evidence, but considering how excited people got about the possibility of a female Link in the Wii U version of The Legend of Zelda, you have to think Nintendo knows the character would be well-received. Time will tell.
