'Kick-Ass 2' Is Going To Have A Pretty Solid Cast And A Pretty Terrible Director

The moderate box office success of Kick-Ass can largely be attributed to the fact that the film prominently featured a mustache wearing Nicholas Cage, so I’m glad to confirm that the sequel will once again star Cage and his moustache. Also, the rest of the original cast including Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloe Moretz and Yancy Butler will be returning. Also also, newcomers Donald Faison and John Leguizamo will be joining the ensemble.

One person who won’t be back is director Matthew Vaughn. He’s too busy with X-Men stuff these days, so the movie with be directed by Jeff Wadlow, the visionary behind the terrible 2005 horror movie Cry Wolf and the also terrible boilerplate MMA sports movie Never Back Down. The rest of his movies aren’t noteworthy enough to get Wikipedia pages, but one of them was called Catching Kringle. Uh oh.

Kick-Ass 2 begins filming in September for a release sometime in 2013.
