L.A. Noire: Movie or Game?

You might remember that “L.A. Noire” has a motion capture system so complex it captures the subtle facial movements and nuances of an actor’s performance. Which means crappy voice acting will at least have convincing facial animation, but also that the game is close enough to a movie to qualify as an official selection of the Tribeca Film Festival.

Basically this means Rockstar is going to make a presentation of the game for a bunch of people who call themselves “cineastes” instead of a bunch of nerds who call themselves hardcore gamers, but it’s the first indication that just maybe gaming is starting to be taken a little more seriously by douchebags in turtlenecks.
