Despite last month’s back-and-forth shenanigans regarding David Lynch‘s involvement in the Twin Peaks revival at Showtime, the man himself spoke out earlier today. The news isn’t good:
Okay, so what do we take from this? According to Lynch’s representatives, Twin Peaks is still on at Showtime. Considering its creator is no longer a part of the project, however, the original actors‘ return to the project could be in jeopardy.
Lynch himself subsequently took to Twitter to relay the news directly to his fans:
Dear Twitter Friends, Showtime did not pull the plug on Twin Peaks.

This weekend I started to call actors to let them know I would not be directing. Twin Peaks may still be very much alive at Showtime.

I love the world of Twin Peaks and wish things could have worked out differently.
