Earlier this week, we got our first glimpse of Warcraft in action, and now the movie’s first full trailer has debuted, courtesy of this year’s Blizzcon event.
The trailer gives equal time to the human Alliance led by King Llane Wrynn (Dominic Cooper) and Sir Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel) and the Orc Horde led by Durotan (Toby Kebbell). Some of the Orcs have been beset by some kind of disaster, and so they want a truce with the Alliance, but the humans probably aren’t going to be able to get over their mistrust of the Orcs. Also, there are plenty of Orcs who aren’t particularly interested in teaming with the humans. This is a Warcraft movie after all. Humans and Orcs smashing each other is what this franchise is all about.
In addition to some hint at the storyline, which looks to be sticking fairly closely to the games, we get hearty helping of action. Kick ass flying griffins, violent ambushes, large scale battles and orcs tossing around horses, the trailer has it all.
Helmed by the Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code), Warcraft is scheduled to roll into theaters June 10, 2016. What do you folks think? Ready for an Alliance vs. Horde throwdown?
