Tina Fey is ready to make her new TV home at FOX.
The writer-producer-actress is re-teaming with her “30 Rock” collaborators Matt Hubbard and Robert Carlock
for a new TV comedy which was just picked up by the network in a rare straight-to-series order.
So far untitled, the half-hour, multicamera comedy centers on a women’s college which has just started allowing men to enroll.
Hubbard will write the script, and exec produce along with Fey, Carlock and 3 Arts’ David Miner. Universal Television will produce.
As of now, Fey has no plans to star in the series.
Unsurprisingly, NBC — home to Fey’s long-running, Emmy-winning “30 Rock”– and other networks were interested in claiming the project before FOX won out, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Fey and Carlock are also teaming with Universal for another previously announced untitled workplace comedy which NBC picked up earlier this week. Fellow “30 Rock” alumna Colleen McGuinness created the series and will serve as writer-producer.
Meanwhile, Fey will soon be seen frolicking with Kermit, Piggy, Gonzo and the rest of the gang in the highly-anticipated sequel “Muppets Most Wanted.”
