Calvin and Hobbes occupy a special place since Bill Watterson released the first four panel strip in 1985. But despite a fervent fan base, Watterson has stood by his convictions to never license the character, not that is ever stopped the bootleggers – looking at you, creators of “Calving peeing on the Ford logo” stickers – or fan art creations.
Brian Kesinger falls into the latter category. By day, Kesinger is a story artist at Walt Disney animation studios and an artist for Marvel Comics (GROOT). By night, he”s been creating the cutest collection of Star Wars/Calvin and Hobbes art you”ll ever see. Perfectly capturing the essence of childlike mischief and vivid imagination of the original comic, Kesinger makes Rey, Finn, Poe, and even Kylo Ren into adorable six-year-olds.
The only problem? There”s not enough of them!

With a cast of adorable characters in place, Kessinger set about making everyone wish for table books full of Star Wars comic strips based on Calvin and Hobbes. So far, most of his focus has been on young Kylo Ren – with Han and Leia trying to raise their slightly evil son – but the others begin popping up at the end.
