Alice Eve on ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ and what she wants with ‘Star Trek 3’

James T. Kirk and Carol Marcus clearly have chemistry in “Star Trek Into Darkness,” but does that mean that the two are fated to be together?

Alice Eve, who plays Carol Marcus in this sequel to 2009’s “Star Trek” seems to think that there is some fate involved, but with the new timeline maybe the two don’t have to have the same relationship that was revealed in “Wrath of Khan.” As she summed it up, it’s a five mission and “there are infinite possibilities.”
Perhaps though the more interesting question is not where exactly Eve thinks things will head with “Star Trek 3,” but rather where she’d rather see them go. Her answer there? She wants to explore “the more human side of the journey” for the next film, noting that “Star Trek Into Darkness” is very action-oriented and “quite dark.”
If you watch the video above, you can also hear Eve discuss whether or not she thinks that JJ Abrams leaving the director’s chair will result in a change in the franchise’s approach to secrets. We could spoil her answer by telling you right here, but that wouldn”t be keeping the secret, now would it?
“Star Trek Into Darkness” is currently available on both DVD and Blu-ray.
