Today, Amazon announced that it greenlit a 10-episode season of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan starring John Krasinski and executive produced by Lost's Carlton Cuse. The series “follows an up-and-coming CIA analyst thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time” and will consist of 10 hour-long episodes.
The character “Jack Ryan” has previously been portrayed by actors Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine in various movies but John Krasinski will be the first to bring him to the small screen.
According to the press release, the series follows Jack Ryan “as he uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.”
