We may see the video game movie curse lifted this year…

Video game fans and moviegoers alike have long lamented the cinematic adaptations of beloved games. Hollywood just hasn't been able to find the golden formula for translating the medium for the big screen.

This year may be the one when the curse is broken, however. With Duncan Jones' Warcraft headed into theaters on June 10th, the newly released Assassin's Creed trailer, and Angry Birds — yes, Angry Birds — opening this weekend, the tide seems to be turning.
