That's a wrap for Brooks Wheelan.
The freshman “Saturday Night Live” cast member announced Monday that he won't be returning to the late-night series next season, telling fans that he “loved every second” of the experience via Twitter:
Had a blast and loved every second of it. I'm totally honored to be able to make this next joke… FIRED FROM NEW YORK IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT!

Wheelan joined the “SNL” cast last September as a featured player but ultimately struggled to break out despite recurring guest appearances on the show's “Weekend Update” segment (not to mention a very funny Jared Leto impression). Other celebrity impersonations for the comedian included Kid Rock, Harry Styles, Slash and Matthew McConaughey.
