Charlie Day says ‘Horrible Bosses 2’ may shoot this fall

SAN DIEGO – Charlie Day could be repping any number of projects at Comic-Con this year, including his current roles in “Pacific Rim” and “Monsters University,” the next season of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” his voice acting in “The Lego Movie”… but there’s a question that lingers, too, if “Horrible Bosses 2” is on track.

“We’re scrambling to put together ‘Horrible Bosses 2,’ because everyone over there wants to do it,” Day told HitFix at Comic-Con this week.

The creative team behind the first “Horrible Bosses” has previously said they’re on board for the next, though Day also told Collider earlier this month they still needed to send him a script. But he knows there’s a good story to be had out his character Dale and a comedy reunion with Jason Sudeikis and Jason Bateman.

“We all really loved the first one and we love each other, and we know there’s a funny movie in there, so we’re just trying to make sure that happens,” he continued on the sequel. “It would have to happen this fall. So if we can get it together by then… we’re close. But if we can pull it all together this fall, then we’ll start then.”

“Horrible Bosses” — whose horrible bosses were played by Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston and Colin Farrell — was out in theaters in July 2011.
