Warning: Full spoilers for the Game of Thrones Season 6 premiere follow…
The Game of Thrones Season 6 premiere brought with it one tantalizing reveal in the form of Melisandre's true form. However, executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are making the viewership wait a bit longer before we find out if Jon Snow is well and truly dead. He isn't…Is he?
How long can they leave this question unanswered before it's detrimental to our enjoyment of the show? And what if they've been telling us the truth about Snow's fate all along and we've simply refused to believe it? That might be the biggest shock of all and a twist that would bode very poorly for this show's storytelling.
Alan Sepinwall and Roth Cornet discuss why in the video above, as well as the way the creators handled the women in this episode, Brienne of Tarth's moment of victory, and how we'd like to see Game of Thrones establish a propulsive feel for the season ahead.
