HBO didn’t exactly have an “off” 2016 — Game of Thrones broke ratings records, Westworld is a much-needed hit, Veep took home a second consecutive Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, Silicon Valley referenced Uproxx — but 2017 is shaping up to be an even better year. For one thing, Curb Your Enthusiasm is returning after a six-year hiatus. Also, The Leftovers and Girls are wrapping up their acclaimed runs, The Young Pope will set the world on fire with fancy hats, and The Wire creator David Simon’s new show is about New York’s porn industry in the 1970s. And it stars James Franco as twin brothers. And it’s called The Deuce. Like I said: even better.
The next-to-last season of Game of Thrones helps, too.
During Sunday’s Westworld, HBO aired its “Coming In 2017” preview, which includes our first look at season seven. It’s not much, but it’s something to hold viewers over until an official trailer is released (which might be awhile — the season isn’t scheduled to premiere until next summer). The most memorable image is of Sansa in the godswood in Winterfell with a shocked look on her face and a new wig on her head. We also briefly see Arya on horseback and Jon Snow looking sullen and important. So, business as usual.

We’ll update with HBO’s official video when it’s released.
