Hannibal Doesn’t Fear Lucasfilm, Won’t Stop Spilling Star Wars Spoilers

Hannibal actor Mads Mikkelsen already decided to drop a big Star Wars: Rogue One spoiler, but it seems it's become a slippery slope. Or, he fears not the wrath of Lucasfilm. Either way, we've got more details about the film. Read on if you'd like to know.

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE TO FOLLOW.

Star Wars: Rogue One, or Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as it's more officially (and difficulty) referred, is breaking new territory for the franchise. At least in the world of film. While it will tread familiar ground, it's the first standalone story on screen. No one is really sure where it will take us. Well, except Mads Mikkelsen.

“There”s this lovely, young, strong, woman, and I play her…father,” he recently revealed to a shocked interviewer. Much like all the other Star Wars films, there's tons of secrecy surrounding Gareth Edwards' film, so Mikkelsen recently telling the world he's playing Jyn Erso”s dad was huge. And then he got to talking to the Evening Standard, and well, I guess when you're Hannibal too many people are frightened of you to tell you to stop.

Mikkelsen – who also stars in Marvel”s newest cinematic venture, Doctor Strange – joked that he struggles to keep his role a secret when he is offered a drink.

“I”m an easy target,” he said. “If I have two pints I start blabbing. No, I don”t tell anyone. I”ve been pretty good. And once you”ve seen two people getting fired you shut up.”

Except, he didn't shut up, telling the Evening Standard, “I spend a lot of time with [Jones], and she”s a wonderful actress. I play her dad at the time of Felicity, and I play her dad when she”s younger, so we jump back and forth in time.”

Huh. So we are going to see into the past, perhaps closer to the time of Revenge of the Sith? Depending on how old Jyn is I suppose. The actor gave a bit more.

When asked if Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) or members of the original trilogy had joined the cast on set, he told Standard Online: “Some of them – but I would reveal too much. There are iconic characters in our film and also characters you have never heard of. It”s a mix.”

So, into the past, and either into the future (based on Rogue One's current time) or younger versions of Han and/or Leia? Is it December yet??
