‘Hannibal’: Mads Mikkelsen wants it back as a TV show, not a movie

As Hannibal, Mads Mikkelsen had no problem killing. But there is one thing Mikkelsen would actually like to bring back to life – his show.

In an interview with Digital Spy, the man who played Dr. Lecter on the NBC series, explained that the only way Hannibal should be brought back is as a TV series, not a movie.

“I won't say no to anything but I think the TV medium for the story of Hannibal works so well,” Mikkelsen said. “It's not a film thing – it's not something you can do in an hour-and-a-half.

He continued, ”Because of the time we had, we could go slowly, reveal our ghosts in the closets later on…I prefer that, I thinks that's very interesting and dramatic to watch.”

The Danish actor has spoken publicly about his desire to bring back Hannibal in the past. In an April interview, he said that he”s very interested in returning to play the role of the not-so-good doctor, but it all depends on show creator Bryan Fuller.  At the time, Mikkelsen said, “If Bryan is up for it, we will all go for it.”

As for now, fans of the show will just have to cross their fingers while dining on fava beans and a nice Chianti.
