HitFix’s World Series of Monsters is here: Who will you vote for?

Halloween is just around the corner and that means everyone will be paying attention to some of the greatest movie and TV monsters of all-time.  Count Dracula, Freddy Krueger, Ghostface even Ryan Murphy will be front and center as kids from 5 to 50 decide what costumes to wear to celebrate one of the biggest party nights of the year (kidding on that last one, sort of).   With the World Series beginning tomorrow, HitFix has decided to have some fun and combine the two events into one unexpected extravaganza: the World Series of Monsters.  We'll be fielding a team of the greatest monsters at every position and eventually picking the MVP!

The first round allows you to pick the starters at each position.  Who's up for consideration?  Let's take a look…

Ghosts in Left Field
Top Contenders: The Blair Witch, Samara from “The Ring” and even Beetlejuice himself.

Werewolves in Centerfield
Top Contenders: Jacob Black from “Twilight,” the legendary Wolf Man and “Thriller's” Michael Jackson?

Extraterrestrials in Right Field
Top Contenders: The aliens of “Aliens,” Predators or those creepy creatures from “V.”

Serial Slashers at Shortstop
Top Contenders: Michael Myers, Jason, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, Chucky and Ghostface make this the toughest call of all.

Killer Kids at Second Base
Top Contenders: Damien, The Children of the Corn and the Bad Seed herself are all ones to watch out for.

Vampires at Third Base
Top Contenders: Count Dracula, Barnabas from “Dark Shadows” or perhaps that sexy Vamp in “From Dusk till Dawn.”

Psychos on the mound
Top Contenders: Hannibal Lecter, Norman Bates, Patrick Bateman, Annie Wilkes, Jack Torrance, Dexter and The Joker make this one scary group.

Scientific Monstrosities at First Base
Top Contenders: Frankenstein's Monster, Godzilla and The Creature from “The Fly.”

Demons Catching behind home plate
Top Contenders: The Headless Horseman from “Sleepy Hollow,” Pumpkinhead and Pinhead.

Killer Animals and Insects in the Bullpen
Top Contenders: Cujo, the one and only shark from “Jaws,” Velociraptors from “Jurassic Park” and, of course, the sharks from “Sharknado.”

Swoony Vampires as the Designated Hitter*
Top Contenders: Edward from “Twilight,” Eric from “True Blood,” Spike from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” Damon from “Vampire Diaries” and Selene from “Underworld”?  Tough call.

*You knew there was no way we weren't doing this category, right?

Voting ends on Sunday, October 26 at 5 PM PST.  On Monday, Oct. 27 you'll be able to vote for the overall MVP right up until Halloween.

Have some fun with us and cast your votes now!
