“Insidious: Chapter 2” may not be hitting theaters until the fall, but screenwriter/star Leigh Whannell tells us a third film in the horror series is definitely a possibility.
“We have no idea yet [whether another sequel is going to happen],” he told us during the recent junket for the forthcoming second installment. “I think the story of the Lambert family – you know, Rose [Byrne] and Patrick [Wilson’s] characters – has come to an end. But whether there’s room to continue exploring the ‘Insidious’ universe? We always say the Further itself has now become the star. This sort of weird astral plane [featured in the films]. There’s a lot you could pull from that, so yeah.”
