James McAvoy finally goes bald for ‘X-Men’

James McAvoy had a head full of hair when he played Charles Xavier in prequels “X-Men: First Class” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past” (a very shaggy head full of hair in the case of the latter).

Now he”s finally mutated into Professor X as we know him played by Sir Patrick Stewart. Those lovely brown locks are gone. Director Bryan Singer debuted the look on Instagram on Friday:

Even before the Scottish actor got his head shaved, the prequels did have some nice nods to Professor X”s signature look. Exhibit A below, the moment when Hank asks Xavier, “Are you sure we can't shave your head?”

“X-Men: Apocalypse” open in theaters on May 27, 2016.
