It's easy to assume that Jeff Bridges had the time of his life starring in “The Giver,” the dystopian caper based on Lois Lowry's Newbery-winning YA novel from 1993, because he got to work with inspired young actors, play a little bit of music (He shares a piano scene with Taylor Swift), and even spar in a climactic scene with Meryl Streep. Seems like a productive, fun way to shoot a very emotional film.
We caught up with Bridges to discuss the characters he can't leave behind, the fun of working with a newcomer like Brenton Thwaites, and what you get out of fighting with Meryl Streep.
