Lily James comes alive as ‘Cinderella’ in new trailer and images

Following on the heels of this year's live action “Maleficent,” next year Disney is releasing a live-action version of another classic tale, “Cinderella.”  In support of that, today they have released a new trailer, poster, and a whole bunch of images.

The cast assembled for the film, which is directed by Kenneth Branagh, features Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine (the wicked stepmother to you and me), Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother, Richard Madden as Prince Charming, and Lily James as Cinderella.

As with “Maleficent,” the trailer unveiled this morning looks quite fantastical.  They are clearly not trying to explain away any magic in the animated version here.  Rather, they embrace it, including Fairy Godmother's providing Cinderella's accoutrements for the ball.

You will find the poster, which features Lily James photographed by Annie Leibovitz in the gallery below.  Leibovitz shot other members of the cast as well, and those images will appear in the December issue of “Vogue.”

Tell us though, are you interested in seeing a live-action “Cinderella” film?  Is it love at first sight?

“Cinderella” opens March 13, 2015.
