Lana Del Rey knows how to do summer right-in her latest song, “High By The Beach,” Rey lets us know that all she wants to do for the foreseeable future is, well, get high by the beach.
The track is a hazy, lazy torch song given a dose of excitement through gently rolling 808 drums, which lends Del Rey”s indolent lyrics a harder edge.
She premiered the song through Annie Mac”s show on BBC Radio 1, and gave a short interview. When asked if she felt nervous about putting new music out, Rey explained, “I actually feel a little better about it, because I know what to expect…”
