Looks like ‘Once Upon A Time’ didn’t forget about Mulan and Red Riding Hood after all!

The big news for Season Five of “Once Upon A Time” is obviously Emma (Jennifer Morrison) taking up the mantle of the Dark One to become the Dark Swan. But while fans wait to see how the chips will fall with the main cast, two old familiar faces are returning to Storybrooke. The girls are back in town, so to speak.

Early today, E Online revealed that Jamie Chung will be reprising her role as Mulan this year! Last seen running off with Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) in Season Three, Chung left “OUAT” to film the NBC show “Believe” which has now concluded. No one was willing to commit to how Mulan will return, what”s in store for her relationship with Aurora (Sarah Bogler) now that baby Phillip is here, or how she”ll adjust to modern day life (if that”s where Mulan will even appear).

However, if you”ve been holding out for Aurora and Mulan to get together, hang your hat on this hope: when Chung left the show, she was vocal that if she ever return, she”d hope her character would get a full-blown romance to ‘sink [her] teeth into.”

Meanwhile, the official “Once Upon A Time” Instagram dropped this little tidbit late last week. Ruby (Meghan Ory) is also scheduled to reappear this season!

Like Chung, Ory was last seen during Season Three and then vanished into the ether due to Ory getting picked up for the now-canceled CBS thriller “Intelligence.” What role Ruby will play in the “Dark Swan” saga remains under wraps for now.

But for fans of these characters who hoped to see their stories revisited, it”s going to be a good year! Now if we could just get the Mad Hatter back.

“Once Upon A Time” premieres on Sunday September 27, on ABC.
