New ‘Lone Ranger’ trailer features more explosions, mythmaking and a costumed Johnny Depp

A decade ago, Johnny Depp teamed up with director Gore Verbinski on a Disney property and they not only made one of the biggest movies of the year, but launched a mammoth franchise. You probably already know all this, and you probably also know that they are now teaming up again on another Disney property with this summer’s “The Lone Ranger.”

The newest trailer for the film has arrived on the internet and it has everything you would expect, from mythmaking to action to masks to Johnny Depp dressed up as Native American. The question is whether or not this new movie will find the same success as the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise (film five in that series is due out in 2015).

Also starring in “Lone Ranger” are Armie Hammer as the titular hero, Helena Bonham Carter, James Badge Dale, and William Fichtner. It arrives in theaters on July 3rd.

Take a look at the new clip up above and you tell us, does it give you the Jack Sparrow tingles?
