New ‘Transformers’ animated series is coming to the Hub Network

The Autobots are coming back to Hub.

A brand-new “Transformers” animated series has been announced by the network for early 2015, with Will Friedle set to return as the voice of Bumblebee alongside such other voice talents as Darren Criss (“Glee”), Constance Zimmer (“House of Cards”) and Ted McGinley (“Married with Children”). The as-yet-untitled series will blend 3D characters with hand-painted environments.

Set several years after the battle between Autobots and Decepticons that took place in “Transformers Prime,” the show will see Bumblebee leading an all-new team of heroes.

In addition to the new cartoon, Hub will be airing specials later this year to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the “Transformers” franchise. Michael Bay's live-action sequel “Transformers: Age of Extinction” is also slated to hit theaters on June 27.
